The Skull of Truth by Bruce Coville

Summary: This book is about a sixth grade boy (Charlie) who lies all the time! He is bullied by a boy named Mark and his gang and once, when trying to run away from them, he lands up in Mr. Elives’ Magic Shop. He steals a skull form then shop and it turns out that the skull has magical powers! He is then on an interesting and sometimes scary adventure!

My opinion: I learnt two new vocabulary words in the first chapter only! ¬†They are “indignant” which means angry, “doofus” which means foolish. I am still in the middle of reading this book, so I will update this post with my review once I am done reading it. It took me some time to finish this book as I couldn’t read for one whole week when I was at camp. This was a very interesting book. My favorite character was Yorick, the skull because he was very talkative and funny and always looking for a laugh. He was cursed to always tell the truth and sometimes, the truth telling led to big consequences for Charlie. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking to read a very enthralling adventure book.
